The purpose of this system is to allow quick connection and disconnection of the LNG bunkering hose from the receiving vessel manifold in a safe manner without employing bolts and reducing to a negligible amount the LNG or gas releases into the atmosphere. It consists in a dry disconnect/connect coupling for cryogenic service to be installed at the LNG bunkering hose -end. The coupler cannot be opened until the DCC halves (hose/tank) are coupled whilst when disconnecting the two halves close automatically. The design is based on IGF code requirements.
