As the use of offloading hoses mounted on reels has become more commonplace, not only on FPSOs, but nowadays also on FLNG assets, MIB has developed a simple, but effective, solution for the isolation and release of the hose-string in the event of an emergency situation arising.

The Emergency Release System is connected between the gooseneck, coming out from the drum of the Reel, and the hose end termination flange.

It is an active system, hydraulically actuated, that ensures the closure of both sides (reel and hose) and the separation in case of an emergency is quick, safe and reliable.
