CO₂ TECHNOLOGY
The capture and sequestration for storage or reutilization of carbon dioxide (CCUS) produced by large combustion plants or heavy industries is a technology becoming part of the mix of strategies available to cope with the growing concentration in the atmosphere of CO₂ of anthropogenic origin, a greenhouse gas that contributes to the current global warming.
The CO₂ captured can be transported, usually in the liquid state, with different carriers – special tank trucks, tank ships or pipes, and injected into an adequate confinement site, or a geological trap that can contain this gas for a very long period of time. The supply chain will need vessels as well as linked infrastructure capable of transporting CO2 safely and efficiently.
MIB can offer project specific and turnkey packages to suit liquified as well as high pressure CO₂ application for ship to shore transfer and viceversa.
